As we approach the start of a new year, many of us are setting goals and resolutions to improve ourselves in various aspects of our lives. For those of us who love running, setting running goals for the upcoming year is a great way to stay motivated and track our progress.
In 2018, I have set some ambitious running goals for myself. One of my main goals is to complete my first marathon. I have been training diligently and gradually increasing my mileage in preparation for this big race. Finishing a marathon has always been a dream of mine, and I am determined to make it a reality in the upcoming year.
In addition to completing a marathon, I also have some other running goals in mind. I want to improve my speed and set a new personal record in a 10k race. I plan to incorporate more speed work and interval training into my routine to help me achieve this goal. I also want to participate in more races and explore new running routes to keep things interesting and challenging.
Another goal of mine is to stay injury-free throughout the year. I have had my fair share of running injuries in the past, and I know how frustrating and discouraging they can be. In order to prevent injuries, I plan to prioritize rest and recovery, listen to my body, and incorporate strength training and stretching into my routine.
Lastly, I want to continue to stay motivated and inspired by surrounding myself with a supportive running community. I plan to join a local running group and connect with other runners who share my passion for the sport. Running with others can be incredibly motivating and can help me push myself to new limits.
Setting running goals for the upcoming year is a great way to stay focused, motivated, and accountable. Whether your goal is to complete your first 5k, run a marathon, or simply improve your overall fitness, having a clear goal in mind can help you stay on track and make progress.
